TERESA CASTIGLIONE

Teresa Castiglione played a critical role in helping Eva Nemeth realize her dream of helping those less fortunate through the establishment of the Alexander and Eva Nemeth Foundation, in 2017.

Under Teresa’s guidance and strict adherence to Eva’s philanthropic wishes, the Alexander and Eva Nemeth Foundation awarded grants totaling more than $7 million in its first six months of operations.  These first gifts in support of medical research, animal welfare, and those less fortunate were some of Eva’s last wishes, as she wanted to provide benefit for many generations to come.

An entrepreneur at heart, Teresa established a thriving bookkeeping and fiduciary business in the early 1980’s. As her business grew, she realized her expertise was in helping those less fortunate; guiding them successfully through some of life’s most challenging obstacles. It was in her early years as a business owner that she met Alex and Eva Nemeth. For many years, she provided bookkeeping services for the family’s burgeoning real estate investments and family fig orchard. As serendipity would have it, Alex and Eva also had the same calling as Teresa — to help those in need. After Alex passed in 2010, Eva, Teresa, and Eva’s lawyer, Bill, developed a plan to create a family foundation that would live on in perpetuity.

Under her leadership as Executive Director of the Alexander and Eva Nemeth Foundation, Teresa, along with her team, will continue to build upon Eva’s dream of providing transformational philanthropy in America’s Finest City for the benefit of medical research, animals, children, and the homeless.
